Is it possible to have social anxiety yet be involved in many activities?
Q. Does anyone who feels awkward or anxious in social situations overcompensate and try to prove to themselves or others that they don't have a problem by being involved in numerous activities, groups, and events? For example, I know a guy who seems to have social anxiety, yet he is a president of a club, a brother in a fraternity, a member of an activity group, and a bunch of other things. This surprises me since I would think someone with this problem would avoid all social situations. What do you guys think?
